Brief

MAPP International is a not-for-profit, "dedicated to developing functional, sustainable environments for artists to create, premier, and tour performing arts projects." MAPP asked FOUR32C to transform a report written about one of their programs, The Africa Contemporary Arts Consortium (TACAC), into a brochure that would illustrate the near seven year journey of the Consortium and its' members.

Process and Recommendations

FOUR32C worked with MAPP to design an 80 page brochure that used both photography and graphic elements to bring movement and life to the report. The dynamic artist imagery coupled with the bold layout to create a vibrant portrayal of TACAC's history and work.

Near the end of the project, MAPP also engaged FOUR32C to craft a video piece using live performance footage and photography. Using rich voice overs, storytelling, and soundtracks from the actual performances we molded the video to compliment the artists' work. The video would work in tandem with the brochure as an educational and promotional piece.

Results

The project culminated in the unveiling of the brochure, and video screening during a two-day symposium held by MAPP and the Africa Consortium. Both MAPP and the artists involved were moved when they saw how the pieces captured the heart of their organization, and the journey they'd all taken together.
